A Central O‘ahu tradition returns at the Town Center of Mililani, with its New Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop celebration. This year’s family-friendly festivities will feature island favorite Ten Feet on stage, along with other performances, to help ring in the new year. Beginning at 5 p.m., community members are invited to catch the lineup of live entertainment, prior to joining in the Pineapple Drop countdown.
At 7 p.m. (midnight New York time), synced with the Times Square Garden Ball Drop, the illuminated 12-foot tall pineapple will descend to the delight of onlookers, as they count down to the year 2023.
Entertainment headliner Ten Feet will surely provide a crowd-pleasing musical performance to help usher in the new year. The group is known for some of the islands’ biggest hits, including Windward Skies and Island Feeling. Shoppers and diners can enjoy this exciting performance while awaiting the exciting pineapple drop.
The evening will commence with high-energy performances by the Asian Lion Dance Team and Ryugen Taiko. Guests can also enjoy prizes and giveaways throughout the event, including hundreds of free LED Foam Light Wands, while supplies last. The program and countdown will be emceed by Devon Nekoba of 94.7 KUMU.
Town Center of Mililani’s Pineapple Drop has become one of the most highly anticipated New Year’s Eve celebrations not only in Central O‘ahu, but throughout the entire island. With more than 90 exciting stores, restaurants and services, guests can plan to enjoy a meal at any one of the center’s many eateries before, during or after the celebration. They can also get some last-minute shopping done for New Year’s Day gatherings. (Please kōkua and support the center’s eateries; no grills or coolers are allowed at the event.)
