About Kaanapali

Planning a vacation to Hawaii? You will definitely want to think about going to Kaanapali, a very popular resort town located in Maui. There are many condominium and hotel resorts that border the area of shopping along the waterfront and the private beach. An underwater paradise awaits you, with breaching whales, sea turtles and thousands of colorful fish. Kaanapali Beach, where local surfers and vacationers come together, has a lot of things to so, like snorkeling and fishing. The view of the islands of Molokai and Lanai are gorgeous. A walkway on the beachfront goes all the way across the entire town and many stores and restaurants are easily accessible from it, as well as a golf course that is 36 holes. There is so much to do in Kaanapali; surfing, swimming, whale watching and parasailing are just some of the activities you can do. A coach train, called the Sugar Cane Train, gives visitors a ride through the past railroading of the island. The Whalers Village Museum has exhibits of a forecastle of a ship used for whaling that was re-built, artifacts that were made from whales, antiques and a lot of documents and videos. It really brings to life the whaling culture. Another great thing to do in Kaanapali is going to the Old Lahaina Luau. Here you will get to have food that is traditionally Hawaiian, listen to music and even learn to hula dance. There are also island crafts and cultural dances and you will receive a lei and a tropical drink. If you want, you can get a souvenir picture too. This Luau will give you a glimpse into the culture that is traditional to Hawaii. A lot of good restaurants are located in Kaanapali, whether it be a casual dining experience or a romantic one. Giovani's Tomato Pie Italian American Ristaurante has been in business since 1972 and is a great place for groups of 30 or less guests and for families. They offer a blend of American and Southern Italian food. Hula Grill is right on the edge of the water at Kaanapali Beach and the view is stunning. Locally grown produce and fresh fish are put together with the end results being quite flavorful and colorful. The Kaanapali Historical Trail helps visitors gain an appreciation and understanding of this place that is so very special. So, plan to visit Kaanapali and look forward to having a really great vacation that will be both relaxing and fun-filled.
