We’re splashing into whale watch season aboard the Star of Honolulu! Hawaii’s beloved Humpback whales are returning to our islands’ warm waters for their annual vacation, and there’s no better place to spot them than from aboard the Star of Honolulu’s Premier Whale Watch Cruise. From December 15, 2016 to April 5, 2017, adults and kids alike can enjoy the Premier Whale Watch Cruise, featuring breathtaking views of Hawaii’s favorite ocean visitors, a “Child Free” special and guaranteed whale sightings.
“We can’t wait to welcome back our Humpback whale visitors who travel many miles to join us every year,” said Whale Watch Cruise Manager Chris Henderson. “Their annual arrival is a wonderful time for us to increase awareness about these beloved endangered creatures while observing them in their natural ocean home.”
With a spacious 60-foot high observation deck and four walk-around decks, the Star of Honolulu offers the most outdoor space of any tour vessel to view Humpbacks, and the ship’s three types of stabilizers allow passengers to cruise along Hawaii’s waters in ultimate comfort. Star of Honolulu’s friendly crew of certified Naturalists are sure to entertain guests while educating them about whales through informative displays, narration, handouts and a fun keiki program. The cruise also offers guests the chance to engage in a variety of Hawaiian cultural activities such as lei making and hula and ukulele lessons.
The Premier Whale Watch cruise departs at 12:00 p.m. and returns at 2:30 p.m. Prices start at $52 for adults and free for children (ages 3-11) with each paying adult. Guests can also upgrade to enjoy the delicious Taste of Hawaii Buffet Lunch, which is $69 for adults and $10 for children. Transportation from the Waikiki area is available for an additional $14 per person. Kamaʻaina rates are also available with valid Hawaii I.D.
An Early Bird Whale Watch aboard the STAR (from 8:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) with “Child Free” special is also available. Guests may also upgrade to a hot breakfast buffe
