Hawaii Kai Towne Center welcomes the Year of the Pig with a performance by the award-winning Wah Ngai Lion Dance Association on Saturday, Feb. 16, starting at 11 a.m., at the Marina Docks stage. There will also be a martial arts demonstration.

Event Details

This free and family-friendly Chinese New Year celebration has become an annual tradition at Hawaii Kai Towne Center. Watch as the dancing lion is fed li see (lucky money), a custom that is believed to bring prosperity to the giver throughout the year. Parents are encouraged to bring keiki, as children are often delighted to feed the lion.

Wah Ngai Lion Dance Association, founded in 2005, is committed to preserving the Chinese traditions of lion dancing and martial arts for future generations. The association has been praised for both technique and artistry, competing against teams from around the globe.
