Description
Sea Life Park is inviting the public to help name one of their Hawaiian Sea Turtle juveniles! The "Name the Turtle” contest leads up to the Park's next Keiki Sunday event on September 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m
Event Details
Sea Life Park Keiki Sunday – A Honu World, is the theme of the event, and shines a light on one of the most beloved sea creatures in the islands.
“Our new turtle hatchlings and juveniles are a very popular aspect of our Park experience,” said Valerie King, Sea Life Park Hawaii General Manager. “Now we’re giving everyone a chance to play a role in a turtle’s life by naming one of them. This turtle will then be on display at the Park, where everyone will be able to enjoy him or her.”
To participate, the public can go to Sea Life Park’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/SeaLifeHawaii/ and write their preferred name in the comments section of the Keiki Sunday Event Page. Guests at Keiki Sunday will also be able to submit names at a display in the Park. The winning name will then be chosen by Park officials from the pool of candidates.
Keiki Sunday has quickly become one of Sea Life Park’s most popular events. Two children 3-12 years old will receive free entry with each paying adult. In addition to experiencing Sea Life Park Hawaii’s world-class shows and animal exhibits, keiki can also take part in special activities featured throughout the day, including:
· Special feeding demonstrations and educational exhibits about turtles
· Turtle-themed arts & crafts
· Live entertainment
Keiki Sunday is a quarterly event that provides keiki and parents with opportunities to learn more about Sea Life Park’s animal residents through specially themed educational exhibits, interactive activities, and arts & crafts.
Regular park admission is $39.99 for adults, and kama‘aina rates are available.
For more information, contact Sea Life Park at (808) 259-2500, or visit the park’s website at www.sealifeparkhawaii.com.
