The Waikiki Aquarium will continue its Distinguished Lecture Series with internationally recognized researcher and Director of University of Hawaii's, Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology, Dr. Ruth D. Gates.

Event Details

Dr. Gates’ lecture, “The Wonderful World of Corals: Harnessing Basic Science to Address an Ecological Crisis,” will focus on the threatening conditions facing coral reefs in Hawaii and around the globe. Dr. Gates’ cutting edge work on corals has earned her global recognition, including the ARCS Foundation Scientist of the Year in 2015 and most recently Hawaii Business Magazine’s 20 for the Next 20 in 2016.

In partnership with Professional Programs, Punahou School, the lecture is free and open to the public.
